Efficacy of clomiphene citrate alonecompared with combination of clomiphene citrate and metformin for treatment of infertility in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of clomiphene citrate compared with and metformin combination used as infertility treatment in polycystic ovarian syndrome. Study Design: Randomized Controlled study. Setting: Combined Military Hospital, Nowshera, KPK. Period: March 2021 to November 2021. Materia & Methods: One hundred forty egiht infertile patients aged between 20 34 years diagnosed PCOS were enrolled for investigation. Using blocked randomization technique, participants divided into two groups. Group A received 50 mg day on days 2 6 dose was gradually increasedto 150 day. Patients B 500 three times a along above mentioned dosage citrate. Collectively, both groups provided follow up six months. Efficacy assessed basis positive urine pregnancy test. Results: The rate ovulation group high comparison (39.2%vs 21.6%; P value = 0.02) results statistically significant. efficacy/conception significantly greater (32.4%vs 16.2%; 0.02). Conclusion: We conclude that met formin, is much efficacious alone treatinginfertility
